Steeped in History
Our traditional stone-built pub dates back to the 18th century and was a Coaching Inn, that serviced the popular Manchester to Sheffield route.
The Ladybower Reservoir, which sits opposite the Inn, together with its close neighbour, the Derwent Dam, was used by the famous RAF 617 Squadron for practising the low-level flights needed for WWII’s war effort. This was due to their similarity to German dams.
